Target is one of the leading retailers, but have you ever wondered why? Haha. Nope. Me neither. They take all my money regardless. I do want to figure out why. Why is target my favorite spot and why is target my first thought every time I need something? Seriously. It’s so bad. You know it’s bad when you tell the kids to get their shoes on and they run to the door with excitement, asking if we’re going to target.
There are a ton of reasons why I love target, and while I’m pretty sure most of it has to do with the spell that red bullseye has on me, there are a few things I want to share, just incase, you too, want to know what all the target hype is about.
1. Target (generally speaking) is super clean!
I have yet to walk into a target in the triangle area that is disgusting. I used to work at target in high school and the tasks they give their staff always includes keeping things clean. They have bathroom checks every hour, to ensure everything is stocked and clean (which is a big thing for me, having small children who I can’t keep off the floor.) Rarely do you ever see trash lying around. Infact I can’t even remember a time I have seen so much as a wrapper on the floor, which is saying something since I pretty much live there.
2. Everything is neat.
I can’t tell you anything that is more frustrating than sorting through a messy isle of shoes on the ground or trying to push a cart holding three children around a pile of clothes. I love being able to see everything without having to sift through it and while the clearance rack can be overwhelming at times it’s usually very neat, sorted by size and by item.
3. Their lines are the fastest moving I’ve ever seen.
If you know me, I’m not about those self checkout lanes. I think it’s absurd to be expected to ring up your own items. Especially after having spent too much time and money in the store already. I have three kids 6, 2 and a half and 9 months. I don’t have time to deal with that madness. I opt to use the cashier lanes. But I’ve never waited more than 5 minutes on your average day. They’re quick to call in extra people from the floor if their lanes start getting backed up and it’s a great practice!
4. They have EVERYTHING.
Our local Super Target is dangerous and my husband knows this. I can get everything there. If there’s one thing I love it’s being able to find everything in one place. I don’t want to get my kids out of the car 57 times to get milk, clothes, lightbulbs and a garden hose. It’s just not feasible.
5. Their sales are great!
Target does tend to run on the pricey side for some things but when they have a sale I will absolutely buy those $45 shoes I’ve been eyeing for $6.98! I bought some Halloween cereal for $1/box after Halloween and my kids were super thrilled. And who can beat $4 realistic looking, eucalyptus stems for all the decor your heart desires.
6. Their employees are helpful and friendly!
Every time I go to target I have at least three people ask me if I need help finding anything. The last thing I want to do is hunt down an employee with all my kids in tow to ask where the extension cords are. But let’s be real, I already know where everything is. I’m a pro.
7. They have a fully functional app
The app is a lifesaver and it helps save coupons, check prices and find exactly where everything is in the store. I always have my Cartwheel app out and save $10+ every trip! Often I find a sale online that they will match in store. And if they don’t have it I can schedule a pickup for it at any other target in the area.
8. They sell just about everything online.
I shop Target.com ALL THE TIME. their shipping is often faster than Amazon and they package it so well. I love the option to pick up in-store or for drive up. Like I’ve said, I have a ton of kids and I’m all about convenience. What’s more convenient that snagging that magnolia wreath without leaving my car?
9. Their customer service is to die for.
I’ve never been anything but pleased with their customer service both in-store and on the phone. They really do act like you’re the best person in the world. I’m returning stuff all the time because I often get distracted and pick up something that doesn’t end up working. They accept EVERYTHING you could possibly want to return.
10. And my favorite of all…Starbucks.
Yes, Starbucks. There’s nothing more relaxing than sipping my latte while strolling the decor isles. It makes my heart happy. I’m pretty sure I look forward to my coffee just as much as the sale endcaps.
I’m sure you’re thinking “Wow, she’s kinda nuts. Why write a blog post about Target? Are they paying her?” And your answer is no. I wish. Haha. Not everyone is as avid of a Target fan as I am but I’m here to tell you, you are missing out. Target makes my life so much easier. If you’re a mom with multiple children and a crazy life schedule, I hope you enjoy roaming the Target isles as much as I do. After all, it’s the only “me time” I typically get. Even with the kids it gives me a break while being productive and finding all our needs in one place.
If you haven’t stepped in to your nearest Target, I urge you to do so. Go find the exciting new sales, discounted air fryers and the new Starbucks macchiato!
